Yellow Marshmellow
Today I'd like to talk about something very close to my heart, the main reason that made me start blogging in the first place, my true passion in life - STYLING as a form of expression. Some people might call it fashion, other people call it dressing up. Call it whatever you want but i feel like the perfect word that best describes my love for self-expression through clothes is definitely STYLE/STYLING.
Ever since i was a little girl(as told by my mom) i had always found joy in the way a certain piece of clothing could change how i felt. She told me i would change clothes every few minutes and tried to mix and match everything in the closet. I probably made a big mess everytime with the pile of clothes i was trying on but it just felt so exciting. Putting together a look is so much fun, it's like solving a jigsaw puzzle, sometimes feels like creating a piece of art.
Growing up, I went through a lot of hardship and was quite the troubled teenager. Styling was the one thing that kept me positive through the chaos of life. It helped me find myself and prevented me from drowning into depression. As silly as it may sound to some, styling was a means of escapism for me from all the negativity in my life, just like other people it could be music, painting, sports, ect. Styling allowed me to express feelings and ideas without having to speak. I believe that my passion has led me to so many great things in life. I've met so many wonderful people who share the same passion, and what i treasure most is when i've been told countless times how i have inspired and helped them get through different struggles in their life. Crazy awesome, right?
So I'd just like to say to the naysayers, anyone out there (because I hear this a lot actually) who feels that people like me who love styling and fashion are vain/shallow. I hope you learn to have more love in your heart and learn to respect other people's passion. Just because you don't enjoy it, doesn't mean everybody else can't enjoy it too. A hobby/passion becomes shallow only if YOU make it shallow. For other people, IT CAN CHANGE LIVES. It's ok to have opinions, but please remember to always be kind. We have no idea what battles people are going through and how their hobbies/interest help them cope with life. Spread love and be the reason for someone else's smile instead!:D
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!
